Founded in 2017, our organization serves as a welcoming and inclusive community for designers of all skill levels and backgrounds to innovate, create, and grow. We provide a friendly, low-barrier space with helpful resources, hands-on opportunities, and mentorship for students—whether they’re just starting out or have been designing for years. Through a focus on community, education, and collaboration, we strive to cultivate a meaningful and supportive design culture on campus. Our initiatives include workshops, project teams, speaker panels, and design competitions, all aimed at helping students become more confident and capable designers. Why should you join? There are no requirements to join Design at UCI—everyone is welcome, regardless of experience level or major. While some events may be limited to UCI students, many of our initiatives are open to participants from around the world, reflecting our commitment to accessibility and inclusivity. By joining Design at UCI, you're stepping into a supportive community of passionate designers who share a common goal: to grow creatively and professionally.
