It can be overwhelming to balance all of these and also find time for yourself. However, one thing I learned during my busiest quarter was that it is sometimes necessary to put yourself first. It's okay to take a step back from all of your extracurriculars and do something that you enjoy. College is definitely a time to work hard and figure out your career path, but it is also a time to find out what makes you happy and learn how to live self-sufficiently and healthily. How have your experiences with the Paul Merage community allowed you to develop as an individual?: Through all my involvements in the Merage community, I have developed relationships with people who have helped in my personal and professional development. The organization that has had the biggest impact on me is my business fraternity, Lambda Phi Nu. Coming into UCI, I was pretty shy and afraid of taking risks, but the friends I have made in LPN have helped me open up and take on new experiences. Now I feel like a more open-minded person willing to try new things that I probably wouldn't have prior to joining the fraternity. Also, the career resources offered by the Merage school have been essential in my professional development and I owe a lot of my success to the people who have helped me along the way. Fun Fact: I taught myself how to code when I was 8. |
