SPECIAL ELECTION CANDIDATES
2020-2021
PRESIDENT (2)
EDWARD LIMy name is Edward Li and I am running to be your MUSA President for the remainder of the 2020-2021 school year. I am a fourth-year Business Administration major, interested in management consulting and will be joining Bain & Company after graduation. The Merage community has done so much for me and I have spent every year involved in MUSA looking for ways to constantly give back. This past Spring/Summer/Fall quarters, I led the MUSA executive board as the appointed interim MUSA President during the pandemic and transition to a virtual college setting. I am running to continue working with the board to execute our plans for the virtual school year. Before that, I served as your MUSA Executive Vice President, VP of Internal Relations, and a MUSA Representative. Outside of MUSA, I am involved in Delta Sigma Pi (DSP) and Campus Representatives. If elected, my primary goals would be centered around the student experience during COVID. It is difficult for Merage students to meet other students, especially for first year and transfer students. I plan to have organized networking nights and coffee chats, where students can meet others virtually. Another component is professional development, as many students are worried about how COVID is affecting opportunities. I would like to lead MUSA to have more virtual student/alumni panels, source professional opportunities, and create a central repository of professional resources for Merage students. Don’t hesitate to reach out, always happy to chat! LinkedIn profile: www.linkedin.com/in/edwardhanli. |
DAVID TAINGMy aspirations as President is to represent the Merage undergraduate community as best as I can, hoping to use my position to communicate with other organizations, academic and professional, within and outside of UCI. Utilizing my experience working with/under leading industry professionals in their respective fields, I would try to the best of my ability to create opportunities for undergraduates. In collaboration with other MUSA representatives, our goal will be to foster an environment for growth along with opportunities to network amongst peers and professionals. |
